Laurie’s personal art endeavors include portraits and anything in the outdoors.  She believes art can be used socially and for self-expression, especially for those going through transition or traumatic situations.  She spent 10 years in nursing homes doing art with Alzheimers patients.  Then, recovering drug addicts became her focus.  Now she works with children going through trauma, one on one in a public school.

She has written and illustrated 16 children’s books.  She writes because she has messages for kids, especially for 2 to 7 year old. “Look at nature.” “Be curious.”  “Observe everything around you.” “Discover something new everyday.
